Anardana Masala Khakhra | Healthy Snack



 



Ingredients :

Wheat flour or multigrain flour - 2 small bowl
Pomegranate seeds - ¾ cup.
Water - as required to knead
Carrom seeds - ½ tsp
Crushed or powdered black pepper - ½ tsp
Asafoetida - ½ tsp
Cumin seeds - ½ tsp 
Clove powder - ¼ tsp
Chaat masala - 1 tsp
Black salt - ½ tsp
Fenugreek leaves - ¼ cup
Sesame seeds - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder- ½ tsp
Salt - to taste
Ghee (clarified butter) or oil - ½ cup


Method -

1. Grind pomegranate seeds into a coarsely fine paste by adding ¼ cup water.

2. To knead a tight dough, take a kneading vessel. Add 2 small cup wheat flour or multigrain flour. Add grinded pomegranate seeds paste.

3. Roast cumin seeds till it crackles. Add all seeds, fenugreek leaves, spices and sesame seeds with ½ tsp black salt and salt to taste in the mixture.

4. Knead a tight dough with required water. Add 2 tsp ghee (clarified butter) or oil on the dough after kneading. Mix well for 1-2 minutes. Cover it and keep aside for 15-20 minutes.

5. Roll it into a very thin round shape to make it crispy & crunchy and cracks free khakhra or wheat or multigrain flour pomegranate flavour snack.

6. Half roast or half cook the Khakra on a low flame to remove its rawness. Keep aside for 5-7 minutes in open to get into normal temperature.

7. After getting into normal temperature. Apply ½ tsp ghee (clarified butter) or oil on one side and roast by pressing with wooden pressure for roti (chapati) or spatula on low flame to light brown. 

8. Then apply ¼ tsp ghee clarified butter or oil on other side and roast by pressing with wooden pressure or spatula till light brown. This roasting process will take 2-3 minutes.

* Serve and enjoy this healthy, tasty, crispy and crunchy khakhra with cheesy curd, pickle, schezwan chutney or groundnut-coconut chutney, coriander-mint chutney or dip or any sauce having healthy pomegranate or anardana flavour and other healthy spices.
